Dr. Saykin is Professor of Psychiatry and Radiology at Dartmouth Medical School and Adjunct Professor of Computer Science at Dartmouth College. He is the Director of the Neuropsychology Program and Brain Imaging Laboratory (BIL) at Dartmouth-Hitchcock Medical Center and New Hampshire Hospital. Dr. Saykin's research focuses on the use of state of the art neuroimaging to elucidate underlying mechanisms of memory dysfunction in neurological and psychiatric disorders and to assess the outcome of neuropharmacological and neurosurgical interventions. Dr. Saykin and colleagues have been awarded grants from the National Institutes of Health (NIA, NCI, NINDS) and National Science Foundation as well as from the Alzheimer's Association, Hitchcock Foundation, Ira DeCamp Foundation, National MS Society, NARSAD and Stanley Foundation among other sponsors. The BIL team has published extensively on CNS disorders including memory systems dysfunction in early Alzheimer's disease and MCI, schizophrenia, brain injury, MS and cancer treatment. Dr. Saykin is actively engaged in training the next generation of clinical neuroscientists to effectively employ cognitive and imaging methodologies in their research. He presently serves on the Brain Disorders and Clinical Neuroscience Study Section at NIH and the Board of Directors of the American Board of Clinical Neuropsychology.
